New speed limit on A77 at Symington
Users of the A77 should be aware that a reduced speed limit comes into effect from Monday 10 March 2008. 
The new speed limit, aimed at increasing safety on this stretch of the route, means the current 70mph between Bogend Toll and Dutchhouse Roundabout becomes 50mph.
This section of the A77 carries around 34,000 vehicles a day.
It is not only a key link for Ayrshire and other west coast communities and businesses including Glasgow (Prestwick) Airport and Northern Ireland ferries but also provides connections to and from Greater Glasgow via the M77.
SPECS average speed cameras operate along the route and it's vital that drivers are fully aware of the changes.
